Mark Govan -
President
Mark has
over 28 years of local central Florida Pest Control Experience. He
started ABC Pest Control, Inc. in 1985 and is a Florida State
Certified pest control operator in General Household Pest Control
and Rodent Control, Lawn and Ornamental Pest Control, and Termite
Control. Mark has a degree in Business Management from the
University of Phoenix. Additionally, Mark is a Certified Arborist
with the International Society of Arboriculture and a Certified Nursery
Professional. He carries the
following product certifications. Certified in Firstline termite
control, Termidor termite control, and the Sentricon Colony
Elimination Systems. Mark is also certified in the “Top Choice
Once-a-Year Fire Ant Control.”
As a
professional Mark has always tried to emphasize the need for
Professional Organization affiliation. To that end, ABC Pest
Control, Inc., is and has been a long time member of the following
organizations; the International Society of Arboriculture, the Florida
Certified Nurserymen and Growers Association, the Florida Pest
Management Association, the National Pest Management Association and
the Florida Turfgrass Association. Mark currently serves on the
Pinellas County Commercial Horticultural Extension Committee, the Pinellas County Overall Extension Advisory Committee,
as well as the PTEC Horticultural Advisory Commitee on Business and
Education.
Mark
opened ABC Tropical Plant Nursery, Inc. in 1990 specializing in rare
tropical flowering plants and trees, specializing specifically in
the Plumeria, the Hawaiian LEI flower. ABC Tropical Plant Nursery,
Inc. is located at the ABC Corporate Headquarters in Largo, FL.
For
three years starting In 1994, Mark Co-Hosted “Gils Garden” a live
television call in gardening show with Gil Whitton. Next, he
joined Gil as his co-host of “Florida Gardening” on 970 WFLA AM.
Mark and Gil worked together on “Florida Gardening” for nine years
until Gil Whitton retired in 2003. Since then, Mark took over the
“Florida Gardening” show Sunday mornings from 7am-9am. This show is
also simulcast on newsradio970wfla.com worldwide.
